Our Services

 

 OceanGrid Energy provides specialist engineering services for the design and assessment of offshore power systems.


We work with operators, EPC contractors, and integrators to ensure battery and hybrid power systems are safe, reliable, and suitable for real offshore conditions — before any equipment is selected, built or installed.  

 

 Offshore Power System Design and Architecture.


 We design how offshore power systems should work as a whole — not just individual components.
This includes defining how generators, batteries, and control systems interact under normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions, with safety and redundancy designed in from the start. 

 

 Feasibility and Hybridisation Studies .


 We assess whether battery or hybrid power solutions are appropriate for a specific offshore asset.
This includes evaluating operational constraints, safety considerations, space and integration limits, and determining whether battery integration will genuinely reduce fuel use and operational risk. 

 

 Power System Modelling and Stability Analysis .


 We model offshore power systems to understand how they behave during load changes, equipment failures, and recovery scenarios.
This allows risks to be identified and addressed at the design stage, rather than during offshore operation. 



 

  Retrofit Planning for Existing Offshore Assets.


 Many offshore platforms were not designed with batteries in mind.
We develop practical retrofit strategies that integrate safely with existing infrastructure while minimising downtime, installation risk, and disruption to operations. 

 

 Risk and Safety Assessments.


 We identify and assess technical risks associated with offshore battery and hybrid power systems, including fire, thermal runaway, loss of critical power, and system instability.
Our work focuses on layered mitigation and fail-safe design aligned with offshore safety expectations. 

 

 Technical Specifications for EPCs and Integrators.


 We prepare vendor-agnostic technical specifications for battery systems, BMS, and power system interfaces.
These specifications support EPC contractors and integrators in procuring and delivering systems that meet safety, performance, and operational requirements. 

 

  OceanGrid Energy operates as an independent technical authority.


We do not manufacture equipment or promote specific vendors — our role is to ensure offshore power systems are designed safely, realistically, and in the best interests of the operator.
